Mary Catherine Meirink
I am a dispenser of hope. Why? Because hope in God kept me alive during some pretty crazy times. The Lord anchored my soul with His unWord-able goodness. (Yes. I make up words, especially when words are not enough.)
I used to hold up my Bible with tears running down my face. βSome day, Lord, this will come to pass.β I was referring to the first chapter of 2 Corinthians; I would be able to comfort others with the same comfort that I have been comforted with by God. I am still a Work In Progress, yet I can testify. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
As far as education goes, I am most grateful for my Honorary Ph.D in Finding Beauty in Ashes from The School of Hard Knocks π I have a Masters in Counseling from Saint Louis University (SLU) and completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). I bring over twenty years full-time service in non-denominational churches providing Congregational Care and Prayer Ministry. I am an Ordained Minister with Open Bible Churches and a Spiritual Director with the Christ-centered Spiritual Directors Association.
One of my favorite places to be is where I serve as a full-time Chaplain in Senior Living (some of the most beautiful people on the planet). I also facilitate retreats with a team of women from different churches in the St. Louis area. You can learn more by visiting Selah Journeys
Jack & I have been married for almost forty years. Together we have two adult children; Jesse & Rachel and an adorable Berna-Doodle puppy, Rosie.
