Blueprint In a Seed

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
— Psalm 139:16 NASB 1995

I found myself praying differently this morning. My conversation with the Lord was along similar lines regarding the plans and purposes of God coming to pass. I asked the Lord to download Heaven’s blueprints as needed. That’s when my prayers got interrupted with a fresh way of thinking.

The kingdom of God is within you.
— Luke 17:21b KJV

My perspective shifted. The kingdom of Heaven is within you. I understood in a way difficult to describe, but I will do my best. I had been asking God to do something, already done.

My concept of Heaven’s blueprint was primarily a book in Heaven that needed to be prayed forth into the earth. My understanding now is similar, but the shift in perspective changes everything.

Here’s the difference. I believe those blueprints are already downloaded into our being when life is conceived. In that blueprint seed are gifts and talents, dreams and hopes, purposes and plans. It’s all there… in that seed.

I still believe it is important to pray forth those divine impartations. However, much of that prayer now involves the proper growth of those seeds that are implanted in the hearts of people. In other words, the blueprints are already downloaded in seed form. Those seeds have fathomless potential, but the soil wherein it is planted can make or break its coming forth. Here are a few initial thoughts.

We all need nourishment: Even though I am not a gardener, I do know that rain, sunlight, and proper minerals are vital. We need nourishment in the whole of who we are; spirit, soul, and body.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
— 3 John 1:2

Dry hard soil can impact the proper growth: Are you like me, in that you grew up in cracked desert like soil? If so, I have wonderful news! That doesn’t have to be the end of the story. Jesus, our example, experienced the same. We see this in Isaiah 53:2 as it describes our Suffering Servant.

For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground;
— Isaiah 53:2a ESV

God has a heavenly irrigation system to impart water into the driest of all places: Living water is available through the abiding presence of God’s Holy Spirit and His word.

Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
— Deuteronomy 32:2 NIV

Growth is a continuous process: Our life with Christ and others was never intended to be stagnate. We are designed to thrive with daily increase.

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.
— Luke 2:52 NASB

Last for the day, but not least: We are called to grow in relationship with God and people. It's not all spiritual. It’s not all natural. True faith impacts our daily lives in every way. Our call to love is the foundation of what matters most.

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
— Matthew 22:37-40 NLT
