Fake Fruit

The photo above looks like Heavenly comfort food, but it’s actually all fake. It sure was a great photo op, though, at The Glow in Missouri Botanical Gardens, also known as Shaw’s Garden. The location does not have anything to do with this post. The fake food does!

I went to sleep last night resisting the urge for sweets, and I woke up laughing from a dream about fake fruit. For those who are too young to remember, bowls of fake fruit used to be a deal. At least they were in my childhood home in St. Louis City during the 60s & 70s. The apples and oranges looked fresh and appealing from a distance, but wow oh wow! It was disappointing if you picked up an apple to eat and found it covered in dust and made of wood or plastic!

As expected, I find myself thinking along these lines while getting ready for work.

How can we figure out if the fruit in someone’s life is fake or real?

How can we get rid of fake fruit in our own lives?

What are differences in outcomes from fake fruit verses real fruit?

I have many thoughts along each of these questions, but I don't have time to answer. I am leaving this here in case anyone gets an urge to jump in with a comment.

FYI: I am not saying this was a dream from God. I am rather sure it followed my craving sugar before bed. Nonetheless, it does present an interesting scenario to consider.

Catch ya later,

Mary
